Katie Couric: CBS Made Me Feel 'Constrained,' 'I Felt Liberated' When I Left

Katie Couric: CBS Made Me Feel 'Constrained,' 'I Felt Liberated' When I Left: "Katie Couric was banking on that perky personality to carry over viewers to CBS along with her tour of the country to get people to tune in, just as she is doing now. Unfortunately, this reality show turned sour as the ratings proved to be disastrous in record setting ways. She did score big points with the Sarah Palin interview that's part of news history. Now she's going on the offensive for what purpose? Should she say how things were at NBC? The fact is, Katie didn't translate in the evening news department. And it's interesting that she's going after her former network when she was the managing editor, responsible for the content of the broadcast. What is also interesting is that this "powerful" woman is trying to find an out for her time at CBS. She did blame gender at one point in a commencement speech, it had nothing to do with her ratings and also showed a double standard. There was just something that people found off putting with her and she needs to accept the ugly truth that perky only goes so far and you can't have it all."
