Eric Fehrnstrom: Auto Bailout Was Mitt Romney's Idea

Eric Fehrnstrom: Auto Bailout Was Mitt Romney's Idea: "IT's that GOP voodoo logic that they do when they run against the success of what Obama has done to stem the tide of what GWB had done during his last four years in office and it's that same GOP voodoo logic that the GOP wants the people to forget how this country got into the financial disaster in the first place with GWB and his cronies. Now Romney is doing some creative writing with his Etch-A-Sketch campaign by reediting his words. Up is down, yes means no, and conservatism means flip-flopping and pandering to the Tea Party and people who aren't Mormons. Romney will also be taking credit for killing Bin Laden and the Somali pirates"

'The Hobbit' 48FPS Footage Divides Audiences At CinemaCon

'The Hobbit' 48FPS Footage Divides Audiences At CinemaCon: "I wouldn't jump to soon to conclusion with the look of The Hobbit. Much of the cinematic quality can be easily fixed in post to give it those warm hues that everyone has come to like. We have come into a new generation of filmmaking now. High end digital cameras have done away with the standard 35mm processed lab filmmaking approach. Red cameras, Canon Mark III and the like are the new standard bearers to filmmaking. I use a digital camera in my work and use three different editing programs. Each one can give you those warm tones or cold moods you need and even can do things the old way couldn't do unless you paid a fortune for editing time. Give it a chance and let's see how it shakes out. Change is always tough when the technology moves as fast as it does."

John W. Whitehead: Blade Runner: What It Means to Be Human in the Cybernetic State

John W. Whitehead: Blade Runner: What It Means to Be Human in the Cybernetic State: "From day one, I liked Bladerunner. I've got three versions, one VHS, two DVD of which one is a Director's Cut. Each ine holds something different. OF the Sci-Fi genre, this one is ranked first with me. The Vangelis soundtrack enhanced the key scenes in a way that gave it that ethereal nuance that made the storyline captivating. I'm in a discussion with one of my buddy's now about Bladerunner as he put together his film project. Of course this isn't the first film that dealt with the whole more human than human scenario. The original 1927 sci-fi classic Metropolis explored some of these elements. It also inspired many other sci-fi classics and characters. Bladerunner made you feel compassion for the skin jobs in a way that became clear in the Roy Batty soliloquy in his final moments. Were the 'skin-jobs' the future Pinocchio's wanting to be declared officially human, even with a limited life span of 4 years? The film explored a lot of questions that Decker postulated in his narrative. We're seven years out from 2019. No telling how far we'll be with bio-technology. "There is already talk about the Japanese fem-bot that so realistic that one of her duties would be like Priss, designed for pleasure. The Brave New World has begun people.

Ann Curry Addresses 'Today' Show Ratings Difficulties At Matrix Awards

Ann Curry Addresses 'Today' Show Ratings Difficulties At Matrix Awards: "Sometimes people are meant to be on the A-team and others are meant for the B-team. I'watched Today and GMA over a course of time migrating back and forth over the years with replacement hosts. This latest round with Today shows reveals that Ann Curry isn't cut out to be on the A-team. I've seen her fumble her way through interviews at an unprecedented way. She's good at reporting in the field and editing her stuff accordingly that comes off fairly well but this live hosting is challenging to watch. You start to count the number of errors she make in a given morning and for someone getting the kind of salary she's getting, it's hard not to ignore the errors. Sure, they all make mistakes but her count is way up there. Psychologist could probably pick apart the rationale as to why some people are more successful than others but maybe this isn't the perfect fit or ascension to the hosting chair made for Ann. Katie moved on and they recruited Meredith. Meredith departed and they graduated Ann to the couch. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea?"

Stacie Halas, Oxnard School Teacher, Fired For Performing In A Porn Video

Stacie Halas, Oxnard School Teacher, Fired For Performing In A Porn Video: "Her stage name is Tiffany Six. So, if they don't want her teaching, I guess it's back to fluffing the flute, beating the baton, cramming the creole, guzzling the Galapagos, shucking the oyster, squirting the one-eyed salamander, mumbling on the muskrat, two-fingering the meringue pie, walloping the walrus, licking the lute, wearing the liquid pearl necklace, plundering the badger hole..."

Thomas Friedman Spoofs Himself In What I'm Guessing Is An Epic Work Of Adventurous Satire

Thomas Friedman Spoofs Himself In What I'm Guessing Is An Epic Work Of Adventurous Satire: "Ah yes, the witty banter reminiscent of the days gone by that was made famous by the participants from the Algonquin round table. The only thing missing here is the lack of friends for Thomas Friedman to make this even remotely Algonquin and a better sense of humor so that the tongue-in-cheek material won't fly to far over the heads of any participants who aren't already bored out of their minds."

Seinfeld Super Bowl Acura Ad Faces Controversy Over Casting Call For Black Actors: 'Not Too Dark'

Seinfeld Super Bowl Acura Ad Faces Controversy Over Casting Call For Black Actors: 'Not Too Dark': "So,somebody did a stupid thing but the lighting excuse doesn't work with today's editing programs. You can easily do color corrections, contrast , lighting, morphing, just about anything with these software programs. Why didn't that commercial have a special effect of Chin Leno flying in on some device? Yeah, use the lighting excuse, that should keep them in the dark."

Shalom Eisner, Israeli Defense Force Officer, Hits Denmark Protester In Face With M16 Rifle, Is Suspended

Shalom Eisner, Israeli Defense Force Officer, Hits Denmark Protester In Face With M16 Rifle, Is Suspended: "This incident is the latest in a string of events the Israeli army has conducted when it comes to human rights violation. If it wasn't for the video, it would have been denied, obfuscated and dismissed like so many other human rights violation. The Israeli government has its own propaganda machine as it wants the world to know that it is the perpetual victim in these conflicts. Never mind that they have the bullets and bombs to the rock throwing crowd. The campaign for peace looks forever hopeless when hardliners on both sides find new ways to gum up the process while new victims are produced with tactics like this. My memory of a 13 year old unarmed Palestinian boy being pinned to a wall while his dead father lay near stays with me on this ABC News footage. The Israeli soldier kept firing as this boy was crouched down trying not to get hit but unfortunately the soldier found his mark. The Israeli government said they would investigate but it never did. The boy and his father were innocent, why did they had to needlessly die?"

John Boehner Endorses Mitt Romney For President

John Boehner Endorses Mitt Romney For President: "With all of these last minute Romney endorsements, I wouldn't read too much into them. It's like you had four choices when buying a car in an Eastern bloc country with only one model, the first car, A Yugo with no engine, the second car, a Yugo with no car seats, the third car, a Yugo with only three wheels, and the fourth car, a Yugo with a steering wheel but no doors. These were your last Republican choices that the GOP was left with. Now the GOP is resigned to take what they've got and turn it into the next best Edsel they could possibly make while pretending to be on board hoping that this ride won't break down."
