Maureen Ryan: 'Downton Abbey' Finale: What The PBS Hit Did Wrong (And Right) In Season 2

Maureen Ryan: 'Downton Abbey' Finale: What The PBS Hit Did Wrong (And Right) In Season 2:

'via Blog this' On your assessment on HIMYM, I'm in agreement but much sooner than you. I initially liked the show and got invested in the Ted and Robin characters but when they ended the relationship in such a haphazard and banal fashion, I was done with it and never returned. At that instance, it became another sitcom where writers couldn't figure out what to do with the relationship so they just get rid of it. I've seen that way too many times in a variety of sitcoms of old and the easy out was the last straw. I've seen recaps and snippets where they've paired Robin with the Barney character and when does it become a point when they are just whoring out the females in these scenarios? And it becomes a little bit incestuous a bit when they pair up the character's inner circle. That was more than evident when the last season of Friends with the Rachel and Joey relationship stretch of non-believably. I'm surprised that nobody isn't sharing some strain of a STD with some of these hookups that are in close proximity of one another.
