I took for Granted

   that you would Always be there

      like the Moon and The Sun and The Air that we Breath

I took for Granted

    that you would grow Old along with ME

      with graying temples and aged lines form the wisdom you would impart

I took for Granted

    that the MUSIC would never End

      turn on the Radio and there you are, timeless in a vacuum

I took for Granted

    that the rainbows would never FADE

      only to see the PURPLE turn to black

I took for Granted

    That SADNESS would never visit these halls

      But It Did and that's On you but it's not your fault

I Took for Granted

    that I would be the one to go first

      but here I stand, alone in search of your hand

I took for Granted

    That Memories are for bleeding heart softies

      Until I looked back and saw yours and smiled

I took for Granted

    What a Wonderful GIFT you had become

      To all of the PEOPLE and not Just ONE

I Took for Granted

    That I would always be hearing your name

      Maybe it WAS better to Burn Out Than To FADE away
